Overview
The Sales & Performance Representative, LAT role is a dual Performance and Sales-based role. The objective is to develop and implement the sales plan and activities to achieve the regional sales objectives while also improving the performance of plant terminal operations through equipment inspections, monitoring of specific process parameters, implementing improvement projects and providing technical recommendations. This role will report directly to the Performance Director/General Manager, Precast & Lafarge Asphalt Technologies.

Responsibilities

Sales Representative:
Responsible to help implement sales growth strategy with direct personal revenue metrics
Actively prospect new business opportunities
Provide informed and responsible guidance to continually improve sales strategy
Grow and expand the Lafarge Sales Plan initiative for the Lafarge Asphalt Technology market
Develop working relations with local contractors
Maintain communication with customers to ensure production meets their needs while managing working capital
Closely monitor competitor activity in the local market area
Generate biweekly reports that recap prior week’s achievements (meeting highlights, market intelligence etc.)
Responsible for maintaining and meeting yearly sales budgets
Frequent client and job site visits to increase our presence throughout the local geography
Maintain tracking system for regional projects and tracking of market prices for asphalt cement products and competing materials
Utilize solution-based selling to maintain strong customer relationships and be proactive in understanding customer needs
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and sales quotations
Project manage by coordinating between the customer and production staff
Assist with collections of monies outstanding from sales achieved
Deal with and solve all customer problems and complaints
Improvement of the efficiency, consistency and productivity of the asphalt cement terminals via daily analysis and reporting processes
Conduct Production Process studies and audits as requested by management and other stakeholders
Work with various teams to provide improvement initiatives
Lead and develop process and manufacturing improvement proposals
Work with stakeholders and vendors to provide project support with capital project installations
Complete inspections, audits and attend all required safety meetings and activities

Performance Responsibilities:
Review WCAN plant and construction operations and develop (improve) best practices to optimize plant and construction activities
Develop, measure and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Coordination of regional branded products initiatives
Continual review of plant and construction equipment utilization for asset and cost optimization
CER (Capital Expense Request) preparation to assist markets in replacing and growing their asphalt plant and construction equipment requirements
Provide training and support for operating processes, annual maintenance and improvement opportunities
Action plan development, review, tracking, and validation
Budget and performance plan support via KPI goal setting
Assessment for greenfield & acquisition growth opportunities
Cross-market communication to identify and communicate cost savings and synergistic opportunities
Liaison with business unit management and operations staff
Close coordination with performance quality control and systems teams
Work with the Performance Director and VP/GM on different strategies and corporate initiatives

Specific Accountabilities:
Consistent application of product line best practices

Communication of asphalt plant issues to operating divisions

Review and monitoring of KPI’s

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience:
Must have at minimum a Technical Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management
5+ years of commercial experience (business development, marketing, sales) preferred
Construction materials experience, specifically in Asphalt Cement
CET preferred
