Position Role: First impressions are very important. The Cashier is the guest’s first impression and must be warm and welcoming with the goal of assisting the guest with menu questions and order placement. The Cashier must know all of the intricacies of the menu to ensure that the proper questions are being asked, that guest needs are being met and a smooth transition to the kitchen follows.

Reports to: FOH MOD (Front of House Manager on Duty)

Essential Duties:

  • Promptly welcoming guests when they arrive & thanking them for their patronage when they leave
  • Assisting guests with food, drink, and nutritional menu inquiries and making helpful menu suggestions based on guest preferences
  • Accurately inputting orders through the POS system to ensure smooth transition of orders to the service line, coffee bar and smoothie bar.
  • Closing customer orders by carefully processing payment and accurately counting change required
  • During slower periods, be a team player and assist with other FOH duties:
  • Assist in running food, bussing the restaurant floor, tidying retail products, restocking dishes and glassware, restocking the pastry section, rolling cutlery, conducting washroom checks and tidying, refilling the water station, spot sweeping, wiping of tables, and contributing to the overall cleanliness and superior of upkeep of Impact Kitchen
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of POS checklist each shift
  • Supporting other restaurant tasks and teammates as required


  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and work well with others in a team based setting
  • Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask when required
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends as business requires
  • Smart Serve Certified
  • Food Handlers is an asset but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $14.00 /hour
