Head of Housekeeping- Waterton 2020

This position requires an outgoing, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual, with exceptional guest relations, problem-solving and organizational abilities. Proven leadership abilities should include effective employee retention skills, training and performance management. Labour and resource budgeting experience is an asset.

The successful candidate must have a minimum 1 year hotel housekeeping experience and 1 year experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor. as well as outstanding communication skills, successful background in long and short term planning and a fine attention to detail.

This position reports directly to the Area General Manager, and responsibilities will include supporting general hotel operations in a leadership role which includes overseeing daily activities of the Housekeeping department, some housekeeping alongside the staff and responding to guest comments and concerns

This role is critical in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, engagement and development of the employee and management teams, as well as achievement of business and financial goals.

Wage -To be determined based on experience

Hours -40 to 44 Hours a Week,

Education -No degree, certificate or diploma required but some Post-Secondary in Hotel Management is preferred

Experience -2 years in Hotel Industry

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assume overall responsibility for hotel operations
  • Monitor the financial and service standards for the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of the organizations strategy ensure co-operation across departments.
  • Monitor departmental performance against goals and take corrective action when necessary, including implementing cost-savings measures as required.
  • Provide written and verbal reports on financial and operational activities on an ongoing basis, and as requested from time to time.
  • Schedule staff and work activities.
  • Supervise, and provide advice, support, guidance, and direction to staff; monitor the performance of staff on an on-going basis, conduct annual performance reviews, discipline and terminate staff as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and monitor expenses.
  • Answer customer questions regarding policies and procedures; deals with customer complaints and comments. Address and troubleshoot problems and concerns.
  • Inspect hotel for cleanliness and appearance; supervises maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings.
  • Coordinate front-office activities of hotel and resolve problems.

Visa Requirements: Applicant must hold the proper work authorization to be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Salary: $38,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
