About the Opportunity
LRO Staffing is recruiting for a Production Manager to join one of our existing clients to help them with some exciting growth in Montreal.
With recent project wins, this established electrical contractor will be providing essential services to the development of one of Montreal and North America’s most significant transport infrastructure projects over the next 5 years. With a strong pipeline of other projects coming to fruition as well, this is an exciting team; They are planning big things and looking for the right people to join early and grow with them to do something special. Over the last 10 years, this business has shown impressive growth and we’ve seen no signs of them slowing down any time soon!
Duties include but are not limited to:
Taking note of the technical and administrative specifications of the project to be executed, including plans and specifications
Collaborating with the project manager to set delivery dates for materials on site
Monitoring the progress of the work and providing reports
Ensuring production efficiency according to manufacturing needs
Planning, organizing, controlling the production and the necessary labor according to the needs and the planned deliveries
Participating in the development of production operating procedures
Organizing, supervising and controlling the work of team leaders and production employees
Participating in the design, implementation of quality standards and improvement of productivity
Actively participating in the Health and Safety plan
Ensuring the maintenance of quality standards of production while working in collaboration with various departments and customers
Optimizing current and operational practices in your department
Participating in decisions relating to the organizational structure of production.
Participating in the team hiring process and conducting performance appraisals or disciplinary notices
Ensuring communication and constant coordination with various teams under construction
Controlling the inventory of warehouse materials
Actively participating in internal coordination meetings
Developing an agenda of deliverables according to predetermined schedules
Preparing purchase orders
Ensuring that materials and equipment are available on schedule
The successful candidate must have the following:
Have experience in managing the production and logistics of a manufacturing operation (5 years)
Have experience in personnel management (5 years)
Knowledge of production planning method
Be bilingual, French and English both oral and written
Have a valid driver's license
Have general knowledge in the field and in construction
Be proficient with MS Office software (Excel, Word)
