Heavy Duty Mechanic / Mechanical Technician
AMAZING OPPORTUNITY with our client, a global OEM in the transportation industry
As a Technician you will be part of the Product Introduction team and work on Commissioning and Warranty phases. You will provide Commissioning leadership and support to projects by developing test procedures, test cases, methods and equipment. Also, you will assure the thoroughness of the above, based on requirements and in coordination with engineering, sister divisions and suppliers. You will apply electrical theory and knowledge in a hands-on capacity with testing activities and equipment. You will also provide technical expertise to subcontractors, project team members and less experienced personnel. We are looking for you to apply technical judgment to earliest possible detection of defects, troubleshooting and resolution in full coordination with engineering.
Provide field support for installation, static and dynamic tests, operation, maintenance and warranty of equipment.
Check for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults/failures or mechanical malfunctions in operation of equipment using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Recommend preventative and corrective maintenance
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
Develop alternate solutions, perform failure analysis on parts. Document and prepare reports for materials, equipment components and processes;
Ensure and respect HSE rules; perform risk analysis on systems and operational procedures. Audit activities and participate in site HSE improvement;
Plans, schedule, direct and record testing, ensure readiness of testing setup and equipment, prepare report and Key Performance Indicators;
Support robustness testing;
Perform trending analysis for improved reliability and preventive action;
Oversee the Warranty Process throughout the entire contract including the resolution of open item through fleet modifications;
Trouble-shooting issues while Testing and Commissioning trains;
Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product enhancements.
Skilled Trade Certificate (Mechanical Discipline) OR Mechanical Technician Diploma OR a licensed 421A or 310T
Three (3) to ten (10) years of relevant experience
Field experience in mechanical domains;
Experience in control systems and electronics troubleshooting is an asset;
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
