Position Title: Cloud System Call Control Specialist – Kandy Cloud Solutions
Location: Ottawa, Canada
We are looking for an intermediate / senior Call Control Specialist with experience in large scale integration of telephony protocols and services. The candidate will work to extend Kandy’s CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service) platform to in the areas of SIP proxy, RTP relay and application servers to support telephony via SIP and WebRTC. The position will work as an integral part of the Cloud Platform R&D team working across functional design teams and geographic locations.

To do this you will need to work with various Product Development teams, System and Solution Architects, Product Management, Operations in a collaborative team environment to service a fast paced and evolving market and set of customers.
Successful candidates will need to have proven record of 3rd party product integration, problem solving, able to learn and debug multiple communication platform technologies, drive problems though to resolution. Attention to detail in complex technical solutions is a must.
This is a fast-paced environment, working with the latest technologies, therefor a thirst for knowledge and ability explore and understand an array of Cloud Native technologies is highly desirable.
Responsible for end to end solution integration of SIP applications with initial focus on 3rd party call control.
Work with other Ribbon / Kandy product groups, partners and 3rd parties to agree end to end solutions, build interfaces and rapidly integrate their capabilities so they can be exposed and consumed through our Cloud APIs related to SIP / WebRTC services.
Collaborate with Application Architects, Developers, Testers and System Engineers to debug complex problems
Input changes to automation capabilities, integrating performance testing with our CI/CD pipelines
Generate proper designs, diagrams and documentation of the implemented solutions
Ensures alignment, mitigate challenges and work with cross-functional teams towards milestones
Effectively prioritizes and execute tasks in a very dynamic, fact paced environment
As a successful candidate, you would have strong experience with SIP technologies and components such as SIP proxies, Application servers, Session Border Controllers Media relays and SIP routing / SIP trunks.
You are a self-driver, initiating action plans to solve end-to-end problems across the solution.
Although not mandatory skills, experience in any of the areas below would be considered an asset:
3rd party SIP application integration
Application telemetry, monitoring and tracing solutions
Linux OS (Redhat / CentOS preferred).
Ansible, Bash, Wireshark, SIPp
Distributed systems and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
SQL, No-SQL Databases
Markup languages (JSON, XML, YAML)
