Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for creating, managing, inputting and implementing changes to the Dalhousie Family Medicine Mumford and Spryfield Clinic schedule. The scheduling is multi-layered and complex due to the academic model it supports. The scheduler must adhere to scheduling guidelines and protocols to ensure residents are paired with appropriate supervisors, as well as ensuring adequate appointment access for patients . This positions requires an individual with superior communication, organization and time management skills.
The successful applicant may be required to work at both Mumford and Spryfield sites.
Grade 12 or GED
One year related post secondary education or two years relevant experience (i.e. working with hospital schedules)
One year related clerical experience
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records scheduling interface required
Experience in a primary health care setting an asset
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong working knowledge of Excel
Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
A skills test may be performed for this position.

Hours of Work
Long assignment, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Assignment dates: September 16, 2019 to September 13, 2021; assignment dates are anticipated and subject to change
$19.7542 - $21.9491 hourly
