General: The Avionics Lead, Heavy Maintenance assists Heavy Maintenance Supervisors in production to maintain project milestones. This will consist of but not limited to: planning, problem solving and ensuring productivity remains constant, providing leadership to shift workers and completes tasks on MRO line


Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

· Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License with E Rating;

· Preference given to candidates with B737 and/or DH8 endorsement courses.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license

· Must be able to obtain Driving Airside License (D/A)

· Must be eligible and able to obtain a Restricted Area Pass (R.A.I.C)

· Must have experience in the handling of WHMIS controlled substances

· Must be able to lift objects on a continual basis

· Computer and data entry sills required

· Excellent leadership skills

· Demonstrate high degree of emotional maturity and ability to operate under stress situations

· Excellent knowledge of MS office programs

· Good working knowledge of MS office programs

· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no stipulations


· Actively participate in the company’s Safety Management Systems program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety

· Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations by ensuring regulatory changes are identified and amendments to affected manuals / training programs are completed in accordance to established procedures.

· Ensure all related policies and procedures are kept up to date and communicated to all stakeholders

· Ensure that the aircraft returning to service from maintenance have paperwork properly completed

· Compile and report SDR findings

· Accurately maintain and update maintenance plans

· Ensure that all serviceable and unserviceable products are appropriately tagged

· Ensure that safe procedures are followed at all times

· Aid in establishing and implementing improved procedures for improved productivity

· Exercise their privileges of Company issued ACA authority

· Complete all Company mandated training

· In the absence of the shift supervisor, assume the role of shift supervisor

· Research material / tooling requirements for scheduled work and ensure availability

· Planning flow of work to maximize productivity

· Effectively coordinate with other departments ensuring elements of the scheduled work is met

· Structural data interpretation and laisse with aircraft manufacture

· Escalate unresolved scheduling issues to the Manager.

· Other duties as assigned
