We are looking for a project leader who is ready to collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the planning and design of customer growth, relocation, reinforcement, and replacement projects.
You will be part of a team of Advisors and Senior Analysts who maintain high standards in their work and provide mutual support and peer mentoring, developing technical and analytical skills. Interpersonal and project management skills are key, with communication and exposure to different areas of the company required for projects. Consideration of risks, time and cost limitations, and alternative options are based on combined input from expert sources and system analysis.
What you will do:
Project management responsibilities include completion of pickline, cost estimation, project deliverables, milestones, and budgets. Negotiate with municipalities and external agencies to minimize conflicts and maximize cost sharing opportunities where potential main relocations are identified. Ensure timely communications.
Responsible for the analysis, design, technical specifications and picklines for sales and district stations, subdivisions, main extensions, reinforcements, pressure elevations, relocations, replacements and headers.
Represent EGD and the Distribution Planning Department at stakeholder meetings, such as with utilities, municipalities, builders or developers to negotiate the company’s position on various planning issues or projects such as relocations.
Responsible for performing an On-Call coordinating role, supporting field forces, for system emergencies occurring anywhere across the entire EGD System. Emergency response is covered on a 24 hour, 7-day rotating schedule. Required to serve as a key contact for field staff and is accountable to provide accurate planning record information, network analysis, affected customer data, system isolation information and other distribution planning information during system emergencies.
Conduct compression coupling searches and contingency plans as required ensuring construction crews are not working in potentially dangerous situations.
Who you are:
You have the following education and experience:
College or University degree in the related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operations and/or engineering environment.
Project management experience and excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrate effective working relationships with peers and internal/external customers, particularly with utilities and municipalities; experience in successful conflict resolution and leading multi-stakeholder projects with proven communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with pipeline asset records and design specifications, and Planning, Design & Records, Construction & Maintenance policies and procedures.
Preferred previous work experience from the following departments: Construction, Engineering, Measurement & Regulation, Operations, Damage Prevention, Customer Connections.
Asset: Professional Engineering designation, Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist, Gas Pipeline Inspector certification, and/or Project Management certification is an asset.
