Now, if you were to come on board as our Event Janitorial Supervisor, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
Manage hourly Eurest Cleaning staff within TD Place/Lansdowne
Maintain positive relationship with client through daily contact and regular meetings to discuss areas of concern, report on deficiencies and obtain any new assignments
Promote operational quality standards, inspect assigned areas and ensure work performed meets company and customer standards for account retention
Assign cleaning personnel to accounts, implement work schedules and ensure accurate time recordkeeping for each account site
Verify and approve daily and weekly payroll, make adjustments as necessary
Assist with new hires, promotions, transfers and disciplinary action under the guidance of the HR Department
Conduct orientation and initial training for new associates
Move extensively around large site to conduct inspections, deliver supplies and meet with associates and clients
Resolve day to day issues in each area of the site and respond immediately to resolve any customer complaint
Assist the site Lead Hands and other associates with any problems that arise
Set an example for associates to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of their activities and abiding by the Client’s & Company’s safety policies and procedures
Report and correct any safety concerns and advise employees of potential/unsafe conditions or hazards
Comply with, and enforce, the H&S regulations, the OHSA and company policies/procedures in a consistent manner
Ensure/provide required training for employees on equipment used and the hazards of their jobs using the Safe Work Practices and Task Hazard Assessments
Investigate incidents/injuries/near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective action
Assist injured workers to ensure participation in the early and safe return to work process
Conduct monthly safety inspection and ensure safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized
Ensure safety meetings with all staff occur as required, review inspection reports and JHSC minutes and provide corrective action on any known deficiencies
Think you have what it takes to be our Event Janitorial Supervisor? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful. You have:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Maintenance or Janitorial Services
Able to operate all cleaning equipment
Experience working in a unionized environment and with collective agreements
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and execute tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop staff
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
This is a full time permanent position with rotating shifts based on the events that are taking place.
Weekends are required on occasion and shared between managers
Night shifts are required 4-8 times per year depending on site and event requirement
Shifts" are not done in a typical manner. Some days its 12+ hours/some days no events and the work week is not fixed – you may only work 3 days some weeks and 6 others
