What This Position Is All About:
The Director, Data Strategy & Governance will be responsible leading the enterprise efforts in data governance; while defining and leading the enterprise data strategy. As data governance leader, the ideal candidate will be accountable for leading enterprise wide efforts to align to the enterprise data governance policy, including the identification of critical data elements, establishing and maintaining the enterprise business glossary, and data issue management. As leader of the enterprise data strategy, the ideal candidate will define the capabilities needed for HBC data to maintain its market position as a leader in data driven insights. The strategy will support the enablement of market differentiating insights, efficient data management practices, and data architecture practices. Additionally, the leader will be expected to maintain expert level knowledge of data and analytics trends across data cataloging, cloud, machine learning, and data integration technologies.

As The Director, Data Governance, Stewardship and Strategy You Will:

Lead the relevant teams, internal and external, to build and deploy Corporate/executive reporting capabilities

Refresh and oversee enterprise data strategy implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of differentiating data driven insights

Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities

Align organization to an enterprise wide data governance policy, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture

Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company�s principal information assets

Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business

Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise

Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

Continually assess tools, models, sources and processes to ensure we maintain a best-in-class data analytics strategy

The design, development and delivery of a technical roadmap that support the advancement of our data strategy

You Will Also Have:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and/or related field is preferred. Advanced degree in decision sciences, mathematics.
10 years of data management, data governance experience
10+ years of experience in one or more of the following industries: credit card, financial services, retail, and/or marketing
Deep expertise in data frameworks, platforms, and technologies to drive our data strategy
Strong knowledge of machine learning and statistics
Demonstrated experience partnering with technology partners both internally and externally to design and develop data architecture, sources, and data warehousing technologies
Executive presence and an ability to bring together a variety of teams to deliver against our strategy
Understanding of data regulatory and compliance requirements.
