This is a chance to bring your open-source server skills to a Vancouver-based health informatics SaaS company with a global footprint.

In this systems administrator role, you'll be joining a small team of software and systems professional, with a focus on running and configuring the linux server environment.

The office is currently located in South Burnaby, although they will be moving to trendy Mount Pleasant in late 2019.

In this linux systems administration role, you'll apply your knowledge of open-source server management, and be the go-to person for anything related to the open-source tool stack. You'll also have a chance to explore new tools and technologies related to containerization, virtualization and continuous integration. You will be part of the team choosing and implementing tools in their ever-evolving DevOps environment.

The software running on your servers is a complex health informatics program used by customers around the globe. So this means security, availability and reliability are important factors in your design and deployment. Does that sound like you?

In this full-time role, you'll earn a competitive base salary, paid vacation and extended health and dental benefits. There are also possibilities to work remotely, as this team has embraced a 'remote first' working culture. This provides the members of team with good work-life balance and flexibility.

One of the exciting aspects of this role, is the chance to help shape the devops and tooling environment. Their current systems are stable and well-established, but they are also looking toward the future, and they want to have an inquisitive and curious person on the team to research new future solutions.

Another positive point is the chance to work on a health-related application that enables healthcare providors around the world to increase health outcomes -- and even save lives. So you can feel good about the work you're doing in the world, too.

There are several ingredients in the technical environment, including a mix of Windows and Linux servers. Your focus will be more on the Linux systems, as they have good coverage on the Windows stuff.

The application developers are using mostly Java and Spring framework for core logic development, and currently evaluating some front-end JavaScript frameworks.
