Reporting to the Manager Resilience, the Resilience Coordinator fills an important role in the Operations & Resilience Portfolio, coordinating administrative aspects of RRU’s resilience program and initiatives.
This essential position will be responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring and reporting out on the RRU Sustainability Plan, supporting enterprise risk management initiatives and associated emergency planning activities, and participating on project teams assigned to key organizational initiatives.
The resilience coordinator and will be a key member of the operations and resilience team and will support coordination and collaboration of organizational initiatives, while promoting a risk-intelligent, resilient and efficient approach to the planning and completion of all work assignments, and meeting the requirements of relevant RRU policy statements.
A relevant undergraduate degree and five years’ experience coordinating resilience program activities or relevant member of teams accountable for management and delivery of related initiatives, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of project management methodology(ies), and associated documentation requirements or risk management methodologies; a CAPM credential would be considered an asset
Proven experience with development of sustainability projects, programs and education initiatives with reference to the broad themes of: energy and emissions, composting and recycling, water conservation, procurement practices, transportation, environmental stewardship, organizational engagement
Excellent administration skills, with ability to create and implement effective processes, trouble-shoot emerging issues, and where appropriate cross-train with others
Superior interpersonal and communication skills and strong track record of effective coordination and collaboration with other business units/departments and stakeholders
Ability to inspire support amongst matrixed team members in service to the overall portfolio goals
Advanced writing skills with a strong appreciation for the value of effective communications and associated best practices
Well-developed work ethic and attention to detail
Demonstrates an ability to identify and take initiative when appropriate, and when to escalate questions or emerging issues
Ability to understand assessments of the viability of individual initiatives, and use sound judgement when dealing with budget and contract management matters
Demonstrates research and analytical abilities
Uses tact and discretion in the work place, and understands its importance in relation to the broad responsibilities of the operations and resilience and VP&CFO portfolios
Brings an advanced proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite of applications, and a strong sense of curiosity and enthusiasm in terms of using new technological tools to enhance efficiency
Demonstrates a positive, professional and engaging approach to work, and the work place
Additional assets will include:
Sound knowledge of RRU’s mission, vision and current program offerings
The commitment to and interest in managing a broad array of duties spanning from repetitive, routine tasks to complex matters
A Microsoft Excel “super user” and/or experience with MS Project
Experience working on business process reengineering initiatives, and/or LEAN or Six Sigma training
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at Grade 3 and the salary range is $46,159 to $69,240 per annum (salary under review).
