Currently, our rapidly expanding team is looking for a Regional Medical Assistant – GTA West for our LMC Bolton, LMC Brampton, LMC Etobicoke, LMC Georgetown and LMC Oakville sites, who can work for us on a permanent, full-time basis. Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is required. Please note that territories are subject to change based on business needs.

The Regional Medical Assistant – GTA West is responsible for supporting multiple physicians and for optimizing patient care by fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of a Medical Assistant as required.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Coordinate the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the providers schedule
Ensure proper documentation (i.e. patient information and forms are accurate in patient chart) and when necessary liaising with medical laboratories and/or providers offices for appropriate patient documentation
Prepare patient for physician evaluation, including but not limited to, measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI and record information in the EMR system
Take patient medical and social history
Identify patients for possible participation in a Research Study
Review medication list and present to Physician
Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies
Maintain inventory of medications and follow all procedures regarding outdated medications (site specific)
Coordinate follow-up appointments and assist with arranging complex appointments

Requirements preferred, but not limited to:
Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is required
Proficiency in measuring various vital signs such as manual blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI
Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset
Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system (knowledge of Accuro is considered an asset)
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Superior time management skills
Excellent attention to detail is required
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
