Marketing Manager Shaw Contract - Toronto

Position Overview

Shaw Contract is a global design leader in commercial flooring for some of the world’s most creative and innovative environments. This Marketing Manager is responsible for strategic marketing leadership in Canada and all aspects of the marketing mix to help Shaw exceed ambitious growth goals in the region. Particular emphasis placed on primary market input and developing/supporting distinctive products and programs that win in the market. This individual will work very closely with sales, sales management and customers to drive our growth strategy. The position reports directly to the Director Global Marketing who is based in the US. We'd like this position to be based in market from the Greater Toronto area.

What you'll be doing:
Develop, and share with leadership team, primary market input (including competitive activities) for the Canada commercial market (with focus on multiple customer types including A&D, End Use, Contractors, Providers, Property Management Firms, and Industry Organizations) via direct customer contact, market research initiatives, and input from the sales organization.

Translate this market input into plans, programs, solutions and tools (including managing the advertising and promotional budget) that meet customer needs and differentiate Shaw from competition.

Lead the product launch process for Canada (including training sales team and distribution network) and work closely with the design team, marketing, product development and manufacturing to develop new products that will help grow Shaw’s market share while attaining financial targets.

Represent the region and collaborate closely with colleagues in other parts of the Americas, EMEA and Asia.

Evaluate go-to-market strategy to maximize long-term profitable growth.

Monitor competitive pricing actions and recommend optimal pricing levels to win commercial projects while maximizing profitability (“sell as much as we can for as much as we can”).

What we'd like to see:
Proven ability to gather primary market input (including competitive activities) from multiple customer types using various methods (including direct customer contact, market research initiatives, and input from the sales organization) and translate this market input into plans, programs, solutions and tools that meet customer needs and differentiate Shaw.

Fluent in English (with French a plus).

Bachelor’s degree.

Five to nine years’ experience in increasingly responsible marketing or sales roles in a B2B, consumer durables industry (commercial interiors experience preferred).

Experience with business across multiple Provinces in the region.

Strategic thinking ability and execution mentality.

Ability to travel throughout Canada (approximately 25-30%).

Flexibility and comfort working in a complex organization with stakeholders throughout the region and in the US.

Experience expanding into new market segments and product categories.

Global mindset.

Self-starter that needs little supervision.

Analytical abilities.

Public speaking skills.

Based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
