WLFNDC FINANCE MANAGER Position
The Waterhen Lake First Nation (WLFN) through its WLFN Development Corporation (WLFNDC) owns and operates its 3 businesses, Waterhen Forestry Products LP, M&N Resort, and Waterhen General Store. WLFNDC seeks an experienced professional with a background in financial operations/bookkeeping to ensure its’ businesses operate efficiency and effectively. The position will be based in Waterhen lake (50min north of Meadow Lake) and be for a 2 year term with possibility for renewal.
Job requirements
Languages – English Education – University 2 year Certificate
Experience – 5+ years
Specific Skills
- Post journal entries;
- Prepare general ledgers and financial statements;
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports;
- Prepare tax returns; GST and PST submissions
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems,
- Create and issue invoices, Process AR/AP, Follow up on payment Business Equipment and Computer Applications, Process payroll submissions,
- Inventory accounting, Month end bank reconciliations
- Knowledge of MS Excel; Word; Accounting software; Quick Books; ACCPAC (Preferred);
- Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal skills; Accurate; Team player; Organized
- Knowledge of First Nations culture will be considered an asset.
Salary is negotiable based on the applicants’ experience and level of education.
