Corteva’s Canola Research Centre is located near Georgetown Ontario (45 minutes from Guelph) where it develops and tests inbreds/hybrids for the Western Canadian and Australian Canola markets.
For this position, we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individual that enjoys working in both team and individual environment. Within this position you will gain training and experience in small trial field projects and controlled greenhouse projects that will help you to develop valuable insights with different aspects of plant breeding and the seed business. You may be required to work extended hours in an outdoor environment during the field season and you will have exposure to bees. Successful candidate should be a fast learner with a high aptitude for precision and accuracy.

What You Will Do:
Greenhouse emasculated crossing
Collecting leaf tissue for molecular analysis
Greenhouse and Field threshing activities
Assist with implementation of precision phenotyping in controlled field environments
Assisting with small plot evaluation Yield trials
Assisting with seed inventory activities
What expertise have you grown? What is required from you?
Applicant should be pursuing a Degree or Diploma and currently enrolled in spring semester
Must have reliable transportation
Successful candidate should be a fast learner with a high aptitude for precision and accuracy.
Willing and able to work extended hours if required
Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be highly motivated and well-suited for work in both team orientated and independent situations
