EduCo currently operates two institutions in Canada namely Arbutus College which covers the English and Career sector and Acsenda School of Management in the Higher Education sector

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Manager Student Services and Retention, the Career Services Coordinator is responsible for the development, planning, promotion, execution and evaluation of a comprehensive career services program and provides students with guidance and counselling to address their career-related needs. The Career Services Coordinator facilitates workshops, organizes career fairs, facilitates internships, manages jobs postings, and provides one-on-one career exploration sessions to students and alumni.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate a comprehensive program of career services seminars, workshops, training sessions.
  • Provide individualized career coaching to students
  • Implement an annual calendar of career services events and workshops that aim to develop Acsenda students into professionals.
  • Provide administrative support for the implementation and execution of internship and practicum placement opportunities.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials which highlight ASM graduate success.
  • Prepare and update online and on-campus job notice boards, and ensure that students and staff are informed of job postings and internship postings
  • Organize, promote, and execute career fairs on campus.
  • Organize and execute on-campus presentations by corporations and community agencies.
  • Maintains statistics on graduate job placement
  • Maintains awareness of, and serves as a campus resource person on, job market and immigration trends and policies
  • Provide guidance and support to Acsenda alumni in their career exploration.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualification, skills, and experience:

  • Experience in the field of career development, career advisement, student services, human resources, or recruitment.
  • Understanding of Canadian immigration policy as it relates to international students
  • Excellent writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with special attention to detail.
  • Multicultural experience, cross-cultural sensitivity, and the ability to speak multiple languages are beneficial.
  • Experience with international students preferred.
  • Networking and Relationship Building – builds and sustains constructive, open, and friendly, professional relationships with faculty, staff and internal and external colleagues, industry contacts, and government officials.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
