Job Description- Installation Team Member

Position Description: Install Team Member

Basic Function: The Installation Team Member position is responsible and accountable to support the day-to-day operation of their installation team:

  • Support Installation Team in matters relating to the efficient and effective operation of their install team
  • Installation work done by Blue Jay Sprinkler Systems Inc. which includes, but is not limited to, the supply of all material and labour for all Residential, Commercial and Golf work
  • Ensuring the maintenance, upkeep and repair of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles owned, leased or otherwise under the control of Blue Jay used for installation purposes
  • To uphold Blue Jay standards of work and efficiency
  • Must maintain an appearance appropriate for the position and situation

Morning Process

  • Be dressed and ready work by 7:00 am, Time-in
  • Gather other team members and leave office at 7:20 am to head to job site

Operations

  • Responsible in assisting for the day to day operations of your installation team
  • Inspire installation team to superior performance
  • Ensures team recognize the customer is the first priority
  • Monitor and manage accuracy of your work
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all Team Leaders and Team Members from the installation teams as well as staff members from other departments
  • Endeavour to build team moral at all times
  • Ensure you always are doing a task, no down time
  • Supply support to installation team leader and/or members when required
  • Implement installations best practices as per Blue Jay Install Process
  • Be aware of all public and private utilities, follow proper procedure when crossing
  • Be aware of jobsite safety requirements (PPE, working at heights, WHMIS, OH&S)
  • Report all issues to the Installation Team Leader along with a plan to rectify the issue immediately
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, keeping open lines of communication with customers and/or contractors to develop relationships and maintain strong customer retention
  • Ensure you follow the proper Blue Jay Installation Process
  • Establish, monitor and enforce the security procedures in place at Blue Jay Sprinkler Systems Inc. to protect the corporate assets as per Blue Jay Employee Handbook Guidelines.
  • Support team leader in monitoring and managing your inventory on a daily basis to minimize handling, storage, damage costs, and waste
  • Support team leader in completing all paper work required (job costing sheet, as built, inventory document) at the end of every day

Training/Health & Safety

  • Ensure that you are thoroughly trained in your duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure you’re attending weekly, monthly and annual Health & Safety meetings
  • Ensure all Health & Safety Documentation and WHMIS data sheets are kept up to date and are in the installation truck binder
  • Compete circle check, completing truck inspections forms and submitting forms to administration on a daily basis
  • Ensure to follow Blue Jay Sprinkler Systems Inc. & jobsite regulations and procedures

  • The candidate of Installation Team Member should have some sort of post-secondary education with a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have field experience with computer scheduling software
  • Must have the skills and knowledge to keep all lines of communication open between all of the departments at Blue Jay Irrigation
  • The sense of sight, speech (English), and hearing are required, must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand and/or walk and/or dig for long period of time while completing other duties and responsibilities
  • The candidate must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle, and feel objects such as computer or installation equipment
  • The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed is also required
  • The candidate must have command of four senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • The candidate must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

  • The normal workday will be from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, however, the hours may be long when specific projects are due, thus some extended schedules will be necessary
  • Will work in an outdoor environments

Reporting Relationships: The Installation Team Member reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Installation Team Leader directly and to the GM Indirectly

Education:

  • Completion of a preferred degree or diploma at an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Completion of a high school diploma at an accredited secondary school or approved equivalent

Compensation:

  • $15.00-$17.00/hour
