A service-driven paper and packaging products company, Atlantic Packaging has grown to become one of Canada’s largest paper manufacturers and a leading producer of packaging products. Our organization employs approximately 1000 people at eight manufacturing plants and four distribution centers.

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner for our Scarborough location.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, analysis of required level of planning, identify and document job requirements.
Ensure all aspects of the company safety policies are incorporated into the job plan.
Plan jobs with appropriate levels of detail for the given skilled trade.
Gather necessary engineering or technical documents, specifications and drawings for specific tasks
Write clear and concise work orders and ensure all work orders are closed when work is completed.
Determine and arrange parts required to perform work.
Print and deliver work orders to the skilled trades in conjunction with the weekly work schedule.
Coordinate priority setting with the management team, also places specific emphasis on obtaining input from operation in setting priorities.
Participate in shutdown planning activities such as scope identification and control, scheduling, coordination, risk assessment, execution and continuous improvement.
Communicate with contractor resources directly on specific work orders assigned to contractors and the performance expectations of the work order

Requirements:
Candidate should have an engineering degree or diploma in mechanical technology from a recognized institute and be highly motivated.
A minimum 5 years work experience in the skilled trades and have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, Access, and AutoCAD; Must be able to read and make drawings manually or in AutoCAD. CMMS experience would be an asset.
Some level of supervisory experience is desirable.
Must have good written and verbal communication; Candidates must have excellent organizational skills.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively with shop personnel, vendors, OEM suppliers and management personnel.
Self-Directed - Able to work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight
