The Diversified Analog Solutions team in Ottawa is developing wireless integrated circuit components and has a challenging opportunity for a current University Student available for a Co-Op work term. The Co-Op student will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned to her or him. The ideal student will be required to apply sound engineering skills to a variety of tasks and project assignments in the area of electronics, design engineering, testing, and test development. This Co-Op will start in January 2020.

Co-Op responsibilities may include:
Responsibilities and task complexity will increase relative to performance.

Testing and profiling of Skyworks products (s-params, power sweeps, noise figure, IIP3, etc).

Assist in development of database driven test environment under supervision of senior test engineer.

Circuit-level or EM simulation, presentation of design expectations/results, participation in design reviews.

Job Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a BS, MS (strongly preferred) or PhD program studying Electrical Engineering

Self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills (this is essential and will be a focus of the interview process).

Good communication, organization, and documentation skills (this is essential and will be a focus of the interview process).

Experience with HFSS, ADS, Cadence, Matlab, SystemVue is beneficial

Knowledge of electronic circuits and (Power amplifiers, LNA’s, etc.)

Knowledge of EM principles.

Programming experience (MySQL, Python are preferred).

An interest and aptitude in the art of RF/microwave and analog circuit design and measurement.

Experience with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.

Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel and Word) and have an aptitude for quickly learning other company-specific software.

This position will provide the student with a well-rounded introduction to the RF design environment and suits individuals seeking a career in the field of RF and analog integrated circuits.
