What responsibilities will you have in this role?

Reporting to the Executive Director, International, the Manage, Finance & Operations providing senior level leadership and comprehensive financial expertise to management for diverse portfolios within the International division of the College. The incumbent directs and is accountable for all financial and budgeting activities.

The Manager, Finance & Operations is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and oversight of all information systems and financial business processes that support International division activities and will lead or coordinate key International division projects and carry out administrative tasks supporting the implementation and onoging operationalization of projects.

Leads budgeting and financial management/modeling at the International Centre, an essential part of a growing revenue-generating unit of the College.
Supports the Executive Director International in consolidating the Divisional annual business plan.
Plans and executes capital asset procurement; reviews and oversees process of Travel Requests and Employee Expense Statements.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of all divisional payables; provides financial advice/support to partnership and contract training initiatives.
Develops a financial reporting framework to support decision making of projects with internal clients; prepares monthly and annual operations reports and financial statements.
Oversees the development and implementation of cost-control and monitoring programs. Ensure compliance with college policies and procedures. Design the process for analyzing and reporting on complex financial data.
Evaluates and conduct studies, prepare reports and give advice on feasibility, cost effectiveness, and regulatory conformance of long- and short-range strategic plans, proposals, special grants and ongoing programs to achieve the IC’s growth and profitability objectives.
Works with internal corporate divisions (IT, Finance, HR) to source vendors; manages vendor relationships.
Assists the Executive Director in establishing office management guidelines, organizes workflow of the staff, and recommends hiring of support staff.
Confers regularly with the Executive Director on various matters related to the effective functioning of international activities on and off campus.
Liaises with Facilities Management to ensure provision of adequate planning and maintenance to division space and equipment.
Coordinate divisional business plan; synthesizes annual business plan, enrolment plan and budgets.
Directs the preparation of and submission of grant applications such as FAFSA Loans at the US Department of Education and ERASMUS + In Europe insuring that they meet the funding agency’s requirements.
Lead or coordinate key International division projects and carry out/delegate administrative tasks supporting the implementation and ongoing operationalization of projects related to systems, technology or business process improvements.
Other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

Four year Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent educational and work experience Is required. CMA Certification preferred.
Minimum five years’ experience Experience in database management, and data analytics/statistical reporting is required. Experience in post-secondary education system and/or international education preferred.
Experience in business process re-engineering and implementing and/or improving systems to support business requirements.
Experience with relational databases. Knowledge of Banner/FAST an asset. Proven proficiency in using ERP and financial systems.
Working knowledge of Finance and a strong accounting background. Sound knowledge of business and accounting practices, financial data modelling.
Experience analyzing data and statistical information in order to forecast and project future costs.
Extensive Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Power Point, and MS Project, coordinate, and implement projects and improve electronic processes and procedures.
Advanced oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, to understand and articulate business requirements and work effectively with staff at all levels across the organization as well as vendors and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating/leading projects, including designing or re-designing business processes, sub processes and implementing changes in computer systems/technology according to deadlines and budget.
Good business sense and understanding of data-driven decision support systems; ability to interpret corporate policies in Finance, IT, HR, etc.
Demonstrated leadership in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
