The Salesforce Engineering team is looking for a Lead Developer. The Salesforce Lead Developer would be responsible for building the future state business solutions at Manulife Financial to ensure seamless fulfillment of products and services. You will contribute to the overall discovery, design development, integration, quality assurance, implementation and maintenance of Salesforce platform and CRM systems.
You bring with you knowledge and experience related to CRM and web technology, creating global Salesforce.com solutions, functional solutions, best practices and implementation of the Salesforce.com suite of products. You will participate in establishing this newly formed Salesforce and mobile practice and provide senior level systems analysis, participating in some of the most strategic projects in Manulife. Your responsibilities will include technical leadership of products and; ensuring deliverables are produced on time, within budget and quality targets, communicating with business and systems personnel to effectively understand business requirements and to develop solutions.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong communications and influencing skills, have a Developer background in Salesforce / CRM solutions and have demonstrated success delivering applications. Your success in this role will hinge on your technical skills and your ability to leverage a natural and successful aptitude for leadership and coordination of technical resources. This position provides an environment for continued development of technical subject matter expertise and leadership management development.
Develop high level design documents
Coordinate and lead technical tasks delivered by in-house and offshore developers
Communicate with Business Systems Analysts to define system requirements and develop solutions.
Use tools and methods such as proof-of-concept to assess alternate solutions to help ensure the team proceeds with the right solutions
Develop and modify application components across disparate platforms and technologies
Strong experience developing and supporting Salesforce Sales cloud, Service Cloud and Community Cloud with 24x7 uptime requirements
Study/implement new Salesforce features and capabilities that integrate to mobility solutions to enhance user productivity
Ensure comprehensive and appropriate documentation at all stages, within an assignment
Conduct development life cycle reviews as required, driving IIS best practices (e.g. design, documentation, quality)
Support Practice team governance of implementation and architectural standards, and escalate concerns that may introduce non-conformance, performance / stability issues, or un-managed risks.
Support test phases executed by Business Systems Analysts, systems testers and business partners
Apply technical and business knowledge to identify, analyze and solve problems
Develop, review and validate team schedules and estimates
Integrate vendor solutions and interfaces for medium to highly complex situations
Collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse cross-functional teams
Provide technical expertise and support where required
Contribute to continuous improvements of departmental best practices
Provide technical leadership and consulting support for large implementations
6 years of hands on technical Salesforce experience building solutions for Sales, Marketing and Service using Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and or PRM portals/communities
Total of 8+ years working experience in an IT role as a developer or technical lead
Experience in Apex Code, triggers, custom object development, SFDC APIs, Web services, Force.com, Visual force, SFDC Workflow designer, Salesforce 1 mobile solution development
Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) systems and Big Data solutions
Experience using code management / version control systems (ex: GIT, SVN)
Experience using Visual Studio Code, and developing ANT scripts to support automated deployments using Force.com migration tool and the MetaData API
Familiarity with a multi-platform, distributed environment
Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve solutions
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate in a multi-cultural environment

Capable of adapting quickly, manage multiple demands and competing priorities, deliver to deadlines
Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
