Job Title: Slot Attendant & Safety Ambassador

Department: Casino Operations

Reports To: Slot Manager

Job Summary

Slot Attendants/Safety Ambassadors will receive thorough training from South Beach Casino & Resort to provide excellent customer service to patrons and technical attendance for slot machines. You support the operations of the business through strong customer relations, following practices & procedures in accordance to gaming regulations, and attending to machine needs such as adding ticket rolls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides friendly and helpful customer service to all patrons on gaming floor
  • Maintains custody of the Attendants’ inventory of currency, forms, documents, and records to operate a cash float on the casino floor
  • Alerts a Security Officer, Slot Manager or Shift Manager of suspicious or questionable customer behavior
  • Alerts Slot Manager or Shift Manager of jackpots in addition to marketing department
  • Assists with jackpot paperwork and provides patrons with copies of any required documents
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs relative to gaming equipment
  • Observes functioning of installed electronic gaming machines or system and reports malfunctions to management
  • Completes Slot incident reports as required
  • Stays up-to-date on machine locations and new games
  • Performs minor housekeeping duties that support patrons using slot machines
  • Practices Health & Safety guidelines
  • Complies with all Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Anti-Terrorist Financing(ATF) policies and procedures
  • Cleans slot machine after each use, and pushes in chairs
  • Ensures physical distancing protocols are followed throughout the gaming floor and safety regulations are adhered to
  • Assists other departments as necessary in support of the success within the organization

Qualifications and Requirements

Prior experience working with slot machines or VLTs is an asset, as well as experience in providing customer service to a large diverse clientele. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships for future business is ideal. Teamwork philosophy to assist and collaborate with other team members in support of SBC&R’s mission, vision, and values. Experience in cash-handling is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

The slot attendant needs to be able to work in a loud environment, lift up to 50lbs, push in chairs, and bend/use arms consistently.

The incumbent must obtain and maintain approval from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba.

Salary: $13.00 per hour
