Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently recruiting a Web/Application Developer to be located in our St. John’s Newfoundland office. The position will be part of a team focused on the development of applications for processing and displaying marine and atmospheric data. The team provides database management, software development and web-based information delivery to clients using cloud technologies. The team uses an agile software development process.
We are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic, interested in new technology, has a passion for quality and a desire for innovation.
Design, development, testing and debugging of applications
Designing applications from conception to completion
Communicating effectively with the team members on various tasks and projects as assigned
Supporting existing applications as required
Other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge and experience working in Linux environment
Web application development experience in a team environment
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodology, unit testing and continuous integration/deployment
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and Docker
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB; big data storage solutions would be an asset
Database experience in creating stored procedures and optimizing database queries
Time management and multi-tasking ability
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a larger team or independently
