Working as system partners, the Health System Performance and Accountability Portfolio enables the Ontario healthcare system to provide high-quality, equitable care, through:
Development, implementation and operations of funding policy and innovative funding models, with the goal of leveraging funding to align with overall program goals and drive value and performance in the system,.
Development, issuance and management of Agreements that align system goals and funding in order to drive strong system accountability.
Standardization and implementation of best practice for performance management across the province- including a coordinated approach to target setting, monitoring, and escalation to support quality improvement and accountability.
Coordination of engagement between Regional teams and the OH provincial office (including Regional Cancer Programs), thereby facilitating effective, streamlined collaboration for system improvement.
The Performance and Accountability department within the Health System Performance and Accountability Portfolio is responsible for ensuring that every patient in Ontario has access to high quality care, by working with partners to lead and coordinate Ontario Health’s accountability and performance processes. Additionally, the Performance and Accountability Department acts as a liaison to regional partners across identified service areas. This includes acting as a key point of contact with OH regions on topics of performance and accountability, Regional Cancer programs, etc.
The department is responsible for the development, issuance, and ongoing management of Ontario Health funding agreements with hospitals and other healthcare facilities across Ontario. The team is also responsible for providing support regarding non-funding agreements (e.g. data sharing agreements, software service and license agreements, etc.), as appropriate. The team works closely with clinical program teams across the organization as well as with partners from Finance, Legal, Privacy, Analytics, Informatics, and regional/facility partners to lead a robust contract management system to deploy more than $3.5B in funding to health care organizations across the province. Through collaboration and partnerships with many internal and external stakeholders, the team also supports the implementation and operational activities of innovative funding models aligned with evidence-based practice enabling system sustainability.
This is an exciting, multi-faceted opportunity to apply your coordination and stakeholder engagement skills to the work of enabling Ontario’s hospitals and other healthcare facilities to provide timely, equitable, and appropriate access to healthcare services for all Ontarians.
Here is what you will be doing:
Provide support to and coordinate activities of the team, including project and operational-related activities and documentation. This includes developing an understanding of the fiscal cycle, performance management activities/tools, and related business processes of Ontario Health and partner health care organizations
Concurrently support administrative aspects of several large, hospital/facility funding agreements, including initial, in-year reallocations, year-end settlements, updating contract-related schedules and tracking documents across a variety of funding programs
Prepare documentation to be sent to external stakeholders. This includes activities such as mail merging, proofreading, obtaining appropriate signatures, preparing emails, and organizing documents which will be sent to senior leadership at health care organizations across the province
Maintain comprehensive databases of contact and funding related information for facilities associated with the funding and other contracts
Maintain tracking spreadsheets to monitor contract sign-back status, follow-up with facility contacts, and correspondence with the Ontario Health Finance team, as required
Act as a primary liaison for regional stakeholders and internal Ontario Health partners with regards to funding agreement related enquiries
Provide coordination support to initiative/project-related meetings (e.g. scheduling, notetaking, following up on action items, etc.), operational activities (e.g. validating and processing invoices, etc.), and developing/updating team resource documents (e.g. standard operating procedures, RASCI charts, etc.)
Utilize project management skills through developing work back schedules, managing activities’ deadlines/dependencies, and preparing status reports for initiatives
Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and/or data spreadsheets for senior leadership teams, health care organizations across the province and the Ministry of Health
Maintain the ongoing development of web-based collaboration spaces (SharePoint and Microsoft Teams) for regional stakeholders
Draft email communications to be sent to the regional leadership, as well as maintain the contact database/s and email tracking to support regional engagement

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., Health Sciences, Health Services Research, Health Administration, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-3 years of relevant work experience
Prior healthcare experience or a demonstrated interest in healthcare is considered an asset
Previous work experience in a coordinator or administrative role is considered an asset
Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams, Project)
Superior attention to detail, organization and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to develop relationships, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with multiple teams across the organization and external stakeholders
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Highly productive and motivated, capable of quality output and able to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet timelines and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a dynamic team within a fast-paced environment, using sound judgement
A desire to learn and take on new opportunities
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (4 roles open currently)
