Why You Want this Job

The role of Analyst, Managed Services is responsible for analyzing and overseeing the performance of contracted vendors across IT. Duties include analyzing vendor performance to assess compliance-to-contract; identifying opportunities for consolidation and identifying contract performance deficiencies or areas of performance improvement.

This role will work directly with the Manager, Managed Services, to ensure the effective management of vendor relationships and outcomes and minimize duplication of effort. The person in this role must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed goods and services.

Responsibilities

Contract Management 30%

Coordinate with I&T partners to aggregate vendor contract performance data and follow-up

Coordinate with I&T and vendors on contracting and invoicing process improvements and assist in working with vendors on corrective action programs.

Vendor Performance Management and Continuous Improvement 60%

Understand major initiatives and apply I&T vendor management needed to support those initiatives.

Collaborate with team members to develop standard and ad hoc reports to support vendor management, compliance validation, operational oversight, and overall vendor spending.

Leverage and support the maintenance/enhancement of tools for use in Vendor Management, including vendor tracking, analytics and performance management tools (scorecards and dashboards).

Vendor and I&T Relationship Management 10%

Harness strong working relationships with various cross functional groups throughout the company and work closely with the Managed Services Manager to implement processes, programs, and compliance.

In collaboration with various I&T teams establish internal and external policies, standards, methodologies, templates etc. for vendor interaction and conduct duties in alignment with the policies, standards and processes.

Requirements

Education/Certification/Designation

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in IT or Business Administration, or related major or equivalent work experience.

Skills/Knowledge

Develop processes and continuous improvement measures to support the Managed Services Specialist in maintaining relationships with vendors

Possess strong analytical skills in defining measures that will drive vendor performance across all I&T domains

Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills.

Strong organization and time management skills.

Experience

Minimum 2-5 years of overall work experience

One to three years of experience with responsibility for development and implementation of strategies and plans in support of an IT Vendor and Contract Management Office.

Knowledge of CN and the rail industry is an asset.
