Vancouver Centre, 600 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver
Reporting to the Senior Receptionist, Functional Imaging, the Clerk Receptionist performs a variety of clerical and reception functions including greeting and re-directing patients and visitors to the Centre, preparing PET/CT scan consent form packages, performing data entry of patient demographic information and receiving and re-directing patient information and other relevant information to a variety of areas.
Skills and Abilities:
Performs a variety of reception duties including receiving patients and visitors, answering inquiries and giving directions, assisting patients and other visitors including directing patients to other areas within the Centre.
Operates a variety of office equipment such as desktop computer, photocopier, fax machine, multi-line telephone, and addressograph including carrying out minor maintenance such as clearing paper jams, reloading paper trays, and changing toner cartridges.
Obtains information required to assign Agency ID from Requesting Departments, enters into information systems information such as name, address, date of birth and contact information and notifies requestor by phone or fax when Agency ID has been assigned.
Processes incoming PET/CT scan requests according to department procedure by collecting outside films/reports pertinent to PET/CT scan, attaching outside reports to the PET/CT request form, ensuring reports/films are available electronically for Functional Imaging medical staff to review and prioritize. Inputs appropriate statistical codes into database for wait time tracking.
Prepares PET/CT consent form packages for presentation to patients arriving for their procedures.
Education, Training and Experience
Grade 12, plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
