Analyzes transactional data to generate and support internal and external investigations.
- Analyzes transactional data from POS systems to identify instances of potential malicious behavior (theft, fraud, etc.), procedural breakdowns and violations of Company policy and be able to communicate such. • Writes, adjusts and refines algorithms and logic to monitor cashier and customer behaviour. • Develops and assigns cases for further onsite investigation. Maintains oversight of assigned investigations and provides support and guidance as required. • Identifies process gaps in Company processes/policies and conducts root cause analysis to prevent future breakdowns. • Generates investigative productivity reports for senior leadership. • Prepares thorough investigative reports and maintains accurate case file notes. • Conducts in-person and/or online training sessions and participates in communication forums as required. Participates in the on-boarding of new associates and ongoing knowledge transfer to existing associates. • Maintains adequate level of communication with and acts as a strategic partner to the Loss Prevention Investigator (LPI), Market Loss Prevention Manager (MLPM) and In-Store Loss Prevention Associate (ISLP) in the day-to-day management of investigations to mitigate loss and risk. • Other responsibilities may be added to this position as the needs and requirements of the Company increase.
