Job Title: Senior Manager Loyalty Commercial Performance

Position Summary

The Senior Manager Loyalty Commercial Performance is part of WestJet’s senior leadership team and will oversee WestJet’s strategic loyalty rewards program. As WestJet becomes more complex and dynamic, we are seeking a senior leader reporting into our loyalty program office. This individual can exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.

This opportunity is responsible for maximizing profitability of the WestJet Rewards program – through driving top tier member flight frequency and yield, identifying cost saving measures, and driving RBC cobrand cardholder acquisition and spend. This position leads a team accountable for designing and optimizing data-driven marketing activities and delivering insights to support management and stakeholder decision making.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement overall omni-channel marketing strategy and plan for the Loyalty program, focused on top tiers and the cobrand credit card – in support of strategic partnerships, Loyalty Commercial KPIs and brand engagement
Lead a team (analysts and database marketers) designing, implementing and optimizing direct marketing campaigns, including pre and post campaign analysis and application of test & learn Develop lifecycle communications framework and CRM
Develop customer database segmentations, propensity models, and improved understanding and application of customer lifetime value
Support and influence stakeholders at WestJet, including Pricing & Revenue Management, Digital and WestJet Vacations, with their commercial initiatives that include loyalty components
Work closely with Corporate Sales to ensure strategic alignment, and develop joint initiatives in support of Loyalty Commercial KPIs
Understand and monitor the Loyalty program’s competitiveness to advise on enhancements to products and services that will drive Commercial value
Manage loyalty program profit and loss resulting from program and partner activity
Manage the data, reporting and analytics strategy for the Loyalty program
Identify customer retention challenges and opportunities for improved acquisition and spend growth
Build enhancements to reporting and analytical capabilities across the entire Loyalty team - through new data sources, tools, processes and training
Lead the team to be high performing, commercially focused, creative, agile and lean

Professional Qualifications:
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business with concentration in Mathematics, Marketing or equivalent
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop individuals, and create high performing teams
Compulsory 4+ years of loyalty program experience in the airline industry, focused on direct marketing and analytics
4+ years of management experience with a track record of effective leadership
Strong analytical skills
Exceptional planning and reporting skills
Broad knowledge of the Canadian loyalty marketplace, with in-depth knowledge of product offerings and value propositions
Ability to effectively work across the organization, build strong relationships and implement processes and structures to ensure an efficient working model between teams
Strong drive and sense of urgency to push for improved results
Strong communication skills both written and verbal; strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas to the next two levels of leadership
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
This position may be eligible for relocation assistance and is based in Calgary Alberta

A competitive compensation package will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications with a base salary in excess of $121,000 annually. This position is eligible for annual compensation reviews and potential increases in excess of 2% of compensation, and a performance bonus as per WestJet’s compensation policy and their Total Rewards program that includes the following: extended health, emergency travel medical, dental, vision, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D).
