The aim of the Safety Advisor is to offer value to our members without compromise, deliver the highest level of service by assisting our members to implement Health & Safety Management Systems that meet and exceed Occupational Health & Safety standards, seek to attain the OSSE standard of Excellence and become OSSE certified.
This position will be based in the Lower Mainland and will report to the Services Manager.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Needs assessment and Gap Analyses: Evaluate the current state and needs of a member organization’s health and safety program. Develop and present findings and action plans to members
In conjunction with our members, develop and execute health and safety management programs as defined in the action plan
Engage members to review progress made in the execution of the action plan
Ensure specific objectives and deliverables for each client engagement are defined in advance of engagement meetings
Complete reports for all clients engaged
Update and verify all pertinent and accurate information in CRM
Optimize the full resources provided by the Alliance with our members
Engage and facilitate the promotion of health and safety as a core value to all members
Facilitate training sessions as required and as detailed in the action plans
Advise members of compliance standards, best practices and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure minimum standards are attained
Work with members to surpass minimum compliance standards
Collaborate/facilitate communication between our members and the Services team sharing best practices, initiatives and OHS standards
Represent the Alliance at professional body meetings in a positive manner
Continuously update and apprise on best practices, compliance legislation and industry standards
