We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in cyber security analysis and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
As a key professional in the GNB Cyber Security team, you will:
Understand GNB strategic direction
Help protect users from cyber threats
Build and maintain trusted relationships
Adapt quickly to new cyber threats
In support of the GNB Cyber Security team you will:
Manage the GNB SIEM
Perform cyber incident investigations
Conduct cyber threat assessments
Build cyber intelligence reports
Perform threat hunting and monitoring
Support the Security Operations Centre
Implement cyber intelligence automation
Engage internal and external partners
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Computer Science or Engineering or other related field and a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience, and / or management of IT network security. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a customer-friendly, solutions-focused manner is essential.
Must have, or be eligible for, a Canadian federal security clearance.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have a basic background in computer networking. Preference may be given to candidates that possess formal certifications such as CISSP, SANS GCFA, CEH, CCNP, CCSE, Security+, CCNA or equivalent.
Knowledge of cyber intelligence sharing standards such as STIX and TAXII would be an asset.
Knowledge of cloud computing, server administration (Unix/Windows), virtual environments, formal programming languages (e.g. C/C++), scripting languages, vulnerability scanning, and computer forensics are considered assets.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

Computer network security concepts

Salary: $3,028 to $3,663 bi-weekly
