We recently engaged leaders from across the Bank to gather their input for a new Cyber Security Strategy. A key part of this role will be to monitor the execution of the strategy and refine the strategy based on the real-world experience of Bank staff.
About the position
As a Windows System Administrator, you are responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance and improvement of the Bank’s Windows Enterprise server platform. You will provide technical support, planning, coordination and administration, including associated storage systems. You also assist in performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning of the operating system, storage hardware and software, and the range of products that support the development and testing of the production environments. You are responsible for the coordination and implementation of changes to the production and test environments systems and products. You work closely with the other server, storage and network infrastructure groups to ensure the highest level of systems support to the Bank.
Your future responsibilities
participate in all phases of the development methodology cycle to implement the required information technology solutions to meet business requirements
participate in the planning, design and implementation of relevant architecture, hardware, software and customized software changes
provide support for systems within your area of expertise; monitor performance of systems and service agreements to ensure that ongoing service-delivery standards, service levels and IT policies are met
analyze system needs; perform process re-engineering, operation management and research
work autonomously to analyze diagnostic information and/or resolve uncommon or complex problems in a multi-functional setting, assessing and communicating technological issues that affect the functional or corporate level, and recommend solutions to more senior colleagues or management
provide IT advice to management and colleagues on the appropriate direction, evolution and usage of technology (architectures, systems, issues, opportunities, policies and standards) related to your field of expertise
develop IT standards and guidelines for technology support and administration
develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external counterparts (partners, clients and suppliers) to support operational objectives
provide on-the-job training to colleagues and clients
Your education and experience
undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline or a post-secondary education in information technology or an industry certification
a minimum of three years of recent experience as an Enterprise System Administrator
a minimum of three years of experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 infrastructure
a minimum of three years of experience with Active Directory
a minimum of three years of experience with large scale environments (500+ servers)
an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
ability to communicate effectively in both official languages
industry certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, RHCE)
experience with SCOM
experience with HP server hardware support
Azure and/or Cloud training/experience
Experience with scripting language (PowerShell, VBScript)
Your knowledge and skills
demonstrated technical understanding of Storage platforms, inter-networking architectures and web computing architectures
experience in performance and capacity planning
working knowledge of:
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
Multi-tiered application support (web, application, database)
MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)/WSUS and Operations Manager (SCOM)
VMware vCenter Server
English or French essential

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $79,100 to $93,000 (job grade 16)
Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
