3-4 Month Co-op Opportunity in Quality Assurance

Dedicated to quality and the satisfaction of our customers, each Team Member will perform duties in accordance with industry specific regulations, Global Food Safety Initiative Standards, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Certification, Good Distribution Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards, performance expectations as well as Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Each Team Member is responsible to report on safety and/or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: GMP, SQF, HACCP, Health & Safety, Attendance, etc.
  • Collect and analyze Processing and Food Safety and Quality data
  • Assist and support various Food Safety and Quality initiatives and projects
  • Assist in swabbing and equipment cleanliness inspections
  • Assist in processing and lab equipment calibration or verification activities
  • Assist in lab testing and test result administrating and documentation
  • Administrate records, reports and document filing
  • Assist in sensory preparation and evaluation program
  • Assist and support employee training on Food Safety and Quality and GMP programs
  • Assist and support Regulatory related research and document administration
  • Assist in identifying, reporting and investigating deviation to procedure, system or standard and implementing corrective actions and follow ups

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Food Science or Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance and related fields
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, Microbiology and/or Food Processing is an asset
  • Team player and fast learner
  • Strong in written and verbal communication
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule
