Avenue Living Asset Management Ltd. (“Avenue Living”) is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. Avenue Living is one of the largest real estate management firms in Western Canada with over $1.1 billion in assets owned and managed. The company is privately owned and led by a strong management team with institutional and entrepreneurial backgrounds. The team is looking to add a high-functioning, well rounded and hard-working business development professional to the Avenue Living Asset Management team. You will have the opportunity to work in a high functioning, entrepreneurial environment.

Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, you will be responsible for professional administration and providing support to wholesale sales-related activities and dealer relations. You will develop and foster positive relationships with investment advisors, dealers, head offices and key stakeholders to expand product distribution throughout the wholesale channel.

What you will be doing:

  • Generating new leads through proactive calls and emails to prospective dealers
  • Providing interested parties with information and materials as requested
  • Supporting the existing dealer and advisor base, by professionally handling all inquiries and requests
  • Securing and organizing seminars, meetings, presentations and conference calls for wholesalers, and providing contact follow-up for all wholesale sales events
  • Managing the marketing materials database and providing advisors and brokers with current marketing materials as required
  • Organizing and updating the advisor and dealer company records
  • Maintaining and updating the CRM system
  • Preparing for, and assisting as required at trade shows, presentations, meetings and other events
  • Drafting and distributing information emails/newsletters to agents and dealer companies
  • Gathering industry knowledge, observing industry competitor developments and maintaining awareness of the competitive environment
  • Reviewing competitor performance and reporting on key issues as necessary to the VP of Business Development
  • Adhering to compliance procedures and regulatory requirements at all times

What you need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales support
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field
  • Experience in the securities and/or real estate is considered an asset
  • A passion for excellence in sales performance and client services
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships
  • A high level of attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
