Job description :
The Field Service Supervisor, Power Systems is responsible for the field service operations within the Branch and will provide efficient, knowledgeable and professional customer service through strong team leadership. This Supervisor will also provide coaching and support to Technicians and team training to ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with operational efficiencies and improvements to deliver service metrics.
- Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and Initiatives
- Coordinate and schedule work orders effectively, administer warranty repairs and claims as appropriate
- Lead efforts in providing effective resolutions for customer and supplier issues to achieve positive customer satisfaction
- Coach and motivate Technicians and support team on Toromont and Caterpillar policies to achieve goals aligned with sustainable growth
- Review and monitor the work-in-progress to ensure objectives are achieved
- Manage team development objectives and plans established to ensure service key indicators are met
- Manage and execute training requirements, performance evaluations and mentoring sessions for direct reports
- Provide input in the development of capital expenditure requirements, operating policies, communication and project objectives for the regional operations related to Commercial Product Support
- Participate in Corporate Product Support meetings and program development
Job Qualifications :
- Post Secondary Education with a minimum of 10 years experience in the electric power generation industry with a supervisory background
- Expertise in the installation and maintenance of main propulsion engines, auxiliary gensets, control systems, switchgear, transfer switches and uninterruptible power supply
- Safety conscious with experience in the maintenance and overhaul of diesel and gas reciprocating engines
- Solid understanding of current power systems marketplace and customer base
- Exceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skills to collaborate at all levels
- Good understanding of general business principles specifically financial aspects
- Improvement mindset with proven success in a Supervisory/Leadership and coaching capacity
- Ability to develop solid internal and external relationships in coordination with sales and marketing efforts
- Effective negotiation, decision making and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Efficient planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively achieve results in a fast-paced, demanding, customer-driven environment with multiple and often competing priorities
- Self-directed, independent and a team player with strong initiative
- Computer and systems literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications and DBS (knowledge of Toromont operations, CAT SIS would be an asset)
- Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of the business needs
- A valid Driver's Licence with a clean Driver's Abstract
