Primary Responsibility:
The major responsibility of the Network Support Associate is to provide technical support for resolution or escalation of desktop, network and software related problems or requests initiated by employees and students at a campus. The Network Support Associate acts as the initial point of contact for technical problems and performs troubleshooting tasks and problem diagnosis. Duties will also include the setup, deployment and configuration of desktop hardware and software at triOS campuses. In addition, the Network Support Associate is responsible for day to day maintenance operations at the campus.

The Network Support Associate will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide initial-contact technical support to staff and students at the campus.
Consult on issues with the IT department (Tech Support) to determine the best course of action.
Troubleshoot and resolve/repair computer and network hardware and software issues.
Move desks, computers and re-configure classroom layouts, running network cable and power bars.
Assist in the imaging and distribution of hard drive images for various faculties.
Assist in the overall well-being and functionality of the computer systems and its software.
Maintenance of the campus as instructed by the Campus Director which may include heavy lifting. This may involve moving furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, moving chairs and computers, fixing non-computer equipment, changing light bulbs, and other odd jobs as required around the campus.
Act as remote hands for the IT department. For example, working with IT on the phone to carry out directives for the physical work that is required to solve the problem at the campus level.
Keep an inventory of PC’s by classroom and update the college administration system, XCAS, when necessary.
Maintain and clean equipment at the campus including but not limited to: Student and staff PCs, projects and printers.
Other duties assigned by the Campus Director.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Microsoft Client Operations Systems – Windows 7 through Windows 10.
Microsoft Office Applications – Office 2016 or newer.
Windows Deployment Server.
Desktop PCs including their interconnectedness with auxiliary technology (ex. PC connecting to a printer, projector, monitor, video switches, etc.).
DHCP, IP addressing structures and sub-netting.
Firewall concepts.
Maintenance and repair of desktop computers, projects, printers, etc.
Assembling/disassembling office furniture (specifically classroom desks, etc.).
All aspects of network cabling (running, crimping, validating, etc.).

Diploma in an IT-related program.
A+ certification is required and Network+ is preferred.
1-2 years working in a customer/client facing position.
Customer-focused, service-oriented.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Manual dexterity, coordination.

Other Requirements:
Moderate to significant physical demand – regular to constant periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping and lifting of heavy objects.
Working on a ladder and reaching above head is a regular requirement of this job.
A reliable vehicle, personal credit card, and valid provincial driver’s license is required.

Hours of Work:
This position is a permanent full-time opportunity. Hours of work will be from 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Occasional weekend work will be required.

Start Date:
The scheduled start for this position is immediate.
