Reporting to the Collections Supervisor, our Collections Clerk will work in a team environment performing collections functions on behalf of the Firm.
Work with the professional or client, review the status of delinquent accounts and oversee the process of collection of outstanding accounts;
Collections of external client accounts maximizing cash flow through effective collection techniques on aging A/R;
Research disputed delinquent account balances and correct any errors, at all times maintaining strong communication with the accounting team, professionals, and clients as required;
Other duties as assigned.
Experience in credit and collections is preferred;
High school diploma with post-secondary courses in accounting is preferred;
Knowledge of accounting/collections software and banking procedures is preferred;
Demonstrated ability to work with clients and troubleshoot accounting issues;
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Experience working in a firm environment or within civil enforcement is preferred;
Review and taxation experience is an asset;
Ability to adapt to fit a changing work cycle with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to providing support during the year end cycle;
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
