This position will entail the elder abuse prevention worker to facilitate upstream approaches to prevent and mitigate elder abuse situations.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Assist seniors accessing supports and resources
- Promote an increased community awareness of elder abuse
- Help facilitate elder abuse awareness events and presentations
- Engage in caring and respectful conversations with seniors
- Be alert for risk factors and signs of abuse and neglect during encounters with seniors
- Ensure privacy and confidentiality when discussing issues of abuse and neglect
- Refer elder abuse cases to the case manager.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in Human Services or equivalent education and experience
- Must have a thorough understanding of seniors' concerns particularly focused on Elder Abuse.
- Must have a thorough knowledge on resources and supports available to seniors
- Two years related work experience is preferred

Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: $21.00 per hour
