Digital Marketing is the most dynamic and fastest growing marketing area that is critical for a successful future for Staples Canada as we progress into the digital era. As an essential member of the team, this position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of our co-op paid digital marketing programs for Staples.
The primary focus of the role is to manage Staples Google Search Ads and Display program. The Specialist is accountable for meeting revenue and cost targets, providing accurate and timely reporting, and driving strategy for current and future initiatives. In a fast and dynamic environment, this position also takes on special projects aimed at driving incremental traffic and sales.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Lead and develop paid search marketing strategies and campaigns for Staples.ca, Solution Shop, and Staples Preferred
Create campaigns from scratch which involves, keyword research, targeting, writing ad copy, and media planning
Competitive research to keep on top of areas of opportunity for Staples
Continued maintenance of account and campaigns
Collaborate and manage Google partner team
Manage Display program for Staples.ca and Solution Shop
Lead display programmatic marketing campaigns including remarketing, prospecting, CRM, lookalike and more
Collaborate with digital marketing analyst to run incrementality tests and reporting to ensure program is incremental
Develop tests in display to drive learnings and optimizations to maximize revenue
Manage programmatic display vendor
Collaborate with agency and internal teams on Display creative.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Knowledge / Skill Requirements:
Proactive and self-motivated work style with proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
Strong hands on experience with Google Ads platform
Strong and effective communication (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills; ability to create and explain technical concepts in laymen’s terms.
A keen interest and passion for Digital Marketing and the industry.
Highly proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint with the ability to analyze data and prepare reports (including the use of pivot tables, charts, and vlookups). Previous experience using analytics platforms (GA360 etc.) and experience working across multiple data sources.
Minimum of two to four years of experience performing digital marketing as it pertains to the role
Google Ads platform experience
Marketing and/or eCommerce experience required, preferably with a multi-channel retailer
Experience managing digital marketing budgets in a programmatic environment
Adept at managing relationships with and influence vendors
Bachelor Level degree in Business or Marketing or a similar program
