FULL-TIME HOURS - AFTERNOON AND MIDNIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Packer under general supervision is responsible for ensuring the finished products from the assembly line and production machinery are packaged in a timely manner and in accordance with Company specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Ensure packaged materials are up to quality standards.
  • Discard any coffee and flavouring products that are incorrectly packaged or damaged in specified rework bins.
  • Apply approved methods, package the finished goods neatly into storage units such as trays, cartons etc.
  • Lift trays and packaged goods onto skid.
  • Assemble the cardboard trays, ensuring they are done according to specifications.
  • Shrink-wrap finished pallets for shipping.
  • Using pump trucks, transport pallets of packaged goods to specified areas within the warehouse for shipping.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained on a daily basis.
  • Work safely and ensure health and safety is of paramount importance.
  • At the end of shift ensure all machinery parts are cleaned as per Company specifications.

  • Conduct monthly inventory required by Production Manager.
  • Assist with material handling (bring raw materials to production area).
  • Assist in any area as required by the Production Manager.
  • Adhere to GMP and GDP practices.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety and QA practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or production environment preferred.
  • Fast faced to keep up with high speed production assembly lines.
  • Good verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working in cool and/or hot temperatures within the warehouse.
  • Frequent bending and twisting.
  • Constant standing throughout the day.
  • Agility and quick action is necessary to ensure proper timing to produce high quality coffee.
  • Must be able to tolerate coffee dust and noise levels above 90 decibels.
  • Must have physical strength adequate to handle and lift 35 lbs.
