Based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, our award-winning growth supports the creation of a new executive role, responsible for leading core operational activities for the organization.

Reporting to the CEO, and as part of the executive team, this position will oversee most day-to-day operations of the company. This will include responsibility for Project Delivery, Contract Management, Corporate Safety, Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities and IT.

Accountability for developing and implementing plans to achieve business strategies, evaluating business performance and overseeing and reporting on all “non-finance & accounting” matters of importance are core.

Key responsibilities will include the following.

Project Delivery:

  • Accountability for performance of the company’s Project Delivery team, ensuring projects are completed to full client satisfaction.
  • Efficient talent resourcing to ensure projects are executed on time, budget and in a quality manner.
  • Managing and enhancing our quality management and project delivery programs while monitoring and reporting on progress, risks and opportunities.

Sales & Marketing

  • Supporting CEO led sales activities.
  • Functioning as our Sales Manager to ensure all sales pipeline information is accurate and up to date.
  • Managing external marketing relationships key to driving the business plan and marketing strategies. This will include but not be limited to website updates, social media plan, internal and external newsletters, etc.
  • Managing development of marketing programs and tools to support both sales and recruitment.

Contract Management

  • Leading the contract management team to ensure the efficiency of contract administration, systems and tools.

Corporate Safety

  • Leading and ensuring an effective and compliant corporate safety program is operational at all times.
  • This involves leading our safety program management team and contractors in the planning and administration of existing safety programs. This includes ensuring appropriate corporate safety plans, systems, processes and tools are in place along with risk assessment and incident reporting.

Human Resources

  • Leading HR support staff, to ensure the effectiveness of administration, recruitment initiatives and retention strategies.

Facilities and IT

  • Managing all requirements and operations of facilities, equipment, and IT hardware, software and systems.

Required Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or relevant field. A MBA, P.Eng, or PMP would be an asset.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of industry experience. 5+ years of which in a management role.
  • Must currently be based in the Greater Vancouver area.
  • Must have experience working at an intermediate level in a professional consulting practice. Preferably in a technical field such as Power, Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas, Municipalities, Transportation, or Mining.
  • Demonstrable competency in corporate operations.
  • Solid understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Legal, Marketing etc.
  • Working knowledge of business data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Appreciation for, and skills to manage, the intangible human side of the business.
  • Able to communicate directly and professionally in high paced, high pressure, situations.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Contract negotiation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in English.

Travel Requirements: Some travel will be required throughout Western Canada. Travel is expected to be less than 10% of time.
