Position Title: Senior Infrastructure Specialist (One Year Contract Opportunity)

Salary Range: $83,761.60 - $92,892.80

Location: Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (on the Yonge subway line)

Overview:
The Senior Infrastructure Specialist will create, maintain, and enhance technology infrastructures. The infrastructure is physical and virtual, on-premise, in the cloud, and at other third-party premises.

The opportunity includes designing server, storage, network, virtual, and serverless environments and their integration with business applications. Business Applications can be external or internal facing. Security, sustainability, and data integrity are key elements of the design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
Design multi-vendor SaaS, IaaS or PaaS environments particularly public Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)

Design and deploy:
Linux and Windows servers, physical and virtual
Enterprise storage arrays
Enterprise data, voice, and media networking
Server and data security
Database technology
Multi-platform backup\restore services
Deploy server-side software business applications
Initiate and/or participate in Change Control applications
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the above technologies
Create and maintain pertinent Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity documentation and processes
Practice capacity management
Translate business requirements (e.g. business case, requirement specifications, non-functional requirement specifications & use case models) into technical solutions
Provide operational and On-Call after hours support and troubleshooting
Automate routine tasks and support continuous improvements approach
Monitor health and integrity of compute environment and react to service disruptions
Monitor health and integrity of Data Centre power consumption and environmentals

Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
Strong background in Windows Server systems administration
Strong background in RHEL/CentOS systems administration
Proficient working knowledge with AWS, such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, CloudFormation, and other core AWS technologies including Security
Experience with Docker, ECS
Ability to build efficient scripts using Python, Perl, PowerShell, PHP
Experience with continuous deployment / continuous delivery tools
Experience with Cloud identity management, single sign-on (SSO) & directory synchronization with Azure Active Directory
Experience with SSO, SAML, OAuth, and Web Session Authentication and Authorization
Experience with cloud databases and data warehousing (Azure SQL Server & Data Warehouse, AWS RDS, Redshift & Glue, etc.)
Experience with serverless frameworks and architectures
Experience with containerizing legacy applications in the public cloud; native or 3rd party container solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, etc.)
