The Coordinator, Medical Staff Privileging Data Quality and Training assists Medical Affairs provincially in implementing harmonized approaches to supporting and managing activities related to the systems and processes used to manage AHS Medical Staff Appointment and Privileging. The Coordinator analyzes and interprets data, identifies potential or real data errors, collaborates with Zone Medical Affairs teams to correct errors and to create, implement and sustain systems and processes to prevent future errors including system enhancements and user training changes. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Consultant, Medical Staff Appointments & Privileging but in collaboration with the Senior Consultant will require define and manage specific data projects and goals. To achieve this, the Coordinator will use analytical and data interpretation skills, project management tools and quality improvement techniques. The Coordinator will work collaboratively on most initiatives with Zone Medical Affairs managers and other staff involved in Medical Staff appointment and privileging processes as well as AHS IT and HR colleagues.
The Coordinator, Medical Staff Privileging Data Quality and Training is responsible for Information Support & Analysis (40%), Medical Affairs Operational Training & Support (30%) and Project Management (30%). Information Support & Analysis: Act as part of a team connecting Zone Medical Affairs operations and Provincial Medical Affairs to further the standardization, harmonization and enhancement of the A&P system; Lead consultation to improve data definition/ quality, business process improvement, report development, audit coordination (for purposes of evaluation of quality improvement) and other projects using effective project management practices; Collaborate with Zone Medical Affairs to identify performance measurement information and data quality needs; Use business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) for displaying/ sharing information; Ensure data/information is maintained accurately/consistently throughout the data life cycle. Medical Affairs Operational Training & Support: Document business processes and create training resources to effectively sustain business processes with rigorous data integrity standards via a decentralized Zone Medical Affairs structure; Support Zone Medical Affairs in provincially consistent data management compliant with the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules; Develop tools/resources that Zone Medical Affairs can use to support and enhance their work; Provide ad hoc support Zone Medical Affairs groups to respond to temporary workload challenges or to provide temporary specialized resources to zone specific initiatives relating to A&P database. Project Management: Develop draft work plans balancing resources available with desired timelines; develop alternatives for consideration where available resources and timelines may be in conflict; Provide regular status reports on progress including risk identification/ mitigation strategies.

Bachelor’s degree in Business/Health Administration, Information Management or Computer Science. Intermediate understanding of relational database design. Intermediate Microsoft Access query user or SQL/Crystal Reports user. Advanced Microsoft Excel User. Experience using quality and process improvement techniques: swim lane diagrams, root cause analysis, etc. Data management experience, including creation and application of data definitions amongst decentralized users. Experience in creating and delivering technical system training to end users.
