The Associate Manager, Institutional Marketing, will support the Canadian Wealth & Asset Management institutional business in delivering on its growth objectives by executing on the marketing strategies outlined in the annual marketing plan and transforming them into industry-leading marketing solutions.
With a strong emphasis on innovation and customer centricity, this B2B marketing role requires a strong ambitious spirit to enable the individual to own, develop, launch and scale innovative marketing campaigns; drive digitization and improve operational efficiencies to propel the Marketing transformation already underway. This individual will lead and develop outstanding customer experiences to elevate the Manulife brand, drive customer value and accelerate sales growth.
The Associate Marketing Manager’s mandate is to:
Oversee execution of marketing tactics, including digital executions and live events
Drive content development (including website content, videos, presentations, and brochures) focused on bringing the Manulife Investment Management value proposition to life
Collaborate with and support the Canadian institutional distribution team
Support development of a robust system of measuring marketing effectiveness
Employ strong project management discipline to drive marketing efficiency and effectiveness
Marketing Campaign Planning & Execution
Develop integrated marketing plans for each campaign to meet the campaign’s brand awareness and consideration objectives.
Translate industry research and audience insights into actionable marketing strategies
Refine creative concepts in partnership with internal partners and external agencies, and ensure strong business alignment
Refine media strategy and ensure media plans align back to business and target audience
Socialize marketing plans with internal partners (digital, product, sales, leadership, legal and compliance) and external partners (agencies, translation, research companies, vendors)
Facilitate legal and compliance approvals and French adaptation through translation partners
Design and build of campaign microsites or landing pages through briefing and collaboration with internal digital partners.
Develop communications and materials to support the sales enablement process
Translate creative concepts across all media tactics and ensure marketing messages are customized for each channel
Execute on all production deliverables with hyper focus on accuracy, timeliness and process efficiency.
Ongoing and thorough measurement of all in-market media to optimize media spend.
Support marketing modernization and transformation efforts by implementing processes that unlock efficiencies across the entire WAM Canada marketing organization.
Initiate, investigate, develop and roll-out marketing roles and responsibilities and seek efficient ways of eliminating or transitioning non-marketing work
Seek and implement innovative and automated processes to enable marketing to focus on high value functions.
Develop digital templates for sales communications to streamline and protect the Manulife brand.
Build and refine digital marketing capabilities that deliver an enhanced experience for and are more closely aligned with the needs of customers
Measurement & Analysis
Build a Marketing Dashboard that clearly demonstrates marketing value back to the business
Build discipline within the campaign execution process to measure media performance and to optimize media spend
Isolate and socialize saves from marketing automation and operational efficiency efforts.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies):
3 to 5 combined years in a financial services marketing role
Developed relationship management skills
Project management background with the ability to deliver with accuracy and timeliness
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills that model corporate core values
Sound business insight, judgment and decision-making
Comfortable in both challenging technical and interpersonal environments
Strong negotiating skills
University / College graduate
High level of comfort with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro)
Familiarity with Marketo, Salesforce, Domo, Jira and Box marketing and business enablement tools, or similar, an advantage
Knowledge of the institutional asset management business is a benefit
