We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Coordinator, Creative & Digital to join our team to help us tell Calgary’s story as a great place to make a living and make a life.

Job Summary

This position works closely with and reports to the Manager, Creative & Digital and is an integral member of the Marketing & Communications team. This role supports the execution of marketing, digital, social and communications programs that promote Calgary as the location of choice for business, investment and career growth.

The Coordinator, Creative & Digital, will collaborate with the business development teams, Startup Calgary, Team Calgary, Creative Industries & the Calgary Film Centre as well as external agencies, suppliers and sponsors to help deliver marketing, social and communications programs that meet planned objectives in these areas of focus.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with the CED Manager, Creative & Digital and broader team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate overall marketing and communications programs to achieve the goals of the organization; including but not limited to:
o Brand advertising campaigns (print, digital, OOH, social)

o Lead generation campaigns (ex: email nurturing campaigns)

o Events

o Public Relations

o Sponsored Content

o Collateral (ex: brochures, signage)

o Web development and content

o Social media messaging and promotion

o Conceptualize, design and implement creative graphics projects and marketing strategies

o Develop and maintain brand constancy and top standards for marketing materials

o Develop visual content (digital and print) as well as presentation packages

o Responsible for studio events photography

o Compile and analyze data in order to accurately report impact and outcomes of marketing initiatives

o write copy for and maintain the website and other internal platforms

o Research and participation in industry events

Ensure corporate compliance with brand graphic and standards, including all the organization’s marketing and promotional materials, advertising and electronic media.
Act as a corporate and city brand ambassador within the organization and with Calgary’s other promotional agencies; develops consistent approach and tools to maintain brand integrity.
Other marketing and communication support as required.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic, Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other relevant experience

Experience:
Minimum of 1 to 3 years in a design, graphics, marketing, communications or social media role.
Experience executing and measuring marketing, social and communications programs, including but not limited to:
Developing and managing project schedules and for large advertising and PR campaigns, events, and public relations initiatives
Liaising with multiple departments in an organization and external agencies, vendors and sponsors to manage project deliverables
Writing content for digital and social media, websites, collateral and videos
Developing presentations and reports for senior management to secure support for recommendations and to communicate results of executed programs
Experience working in graphic design & marketing
Strong design and photography portfolio
Experience working for a design firm an asset
Passion and trend awareness for social media
Tech-savvy (including WordPress)
Strong writing and communication skills
Logical, detail oriented, resourceful and analytical
Understanding of the business audience and integrated campaign and content management
Ability to effectively build collaborative working relationships
Digital skills for Youth is an initiative of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. It is a part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy-Career Focus. Applicant's must meet the following criteria:

be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship
completed post-secondary studies

Unique Working Conditions:
An economy isn’t always built between 9 to 5. This position may require long and/or irregular hours including attendance at a number of functions and events. The successful candidate works effectively within a team environment and maintains composure when under pressure. The successful candidate must be able to balance and prioritize demands for information from a variety of sources, both internal and external, and deal effectively with politically sensitive as well as confidential information.
