ANNUAL SALARY: $97,968.00 – $128,585.60 annually

About the Role:
As part of the Kerry’s Place Autism Services management team, the Vice President Human Resources is responsible for the strategy and performance, leadership and supervision and the resource management of the Human Resources department to support our mission and overall strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Performance

Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and management team to continuously advance the strategic direction of Kerry’s Place to becoming an employer of choice.
Lead or participate as a member of Provincial and Regional Working Groups and Committees to develop, implement and maintain new legislation, regulations, guidelines and requirements.
Support the attraction, development and retention of diverse and talented employee teams.
Plan, develop and evaluate HR programs and services to increase employee engagement.
Establish and regularly assess risk control programs to enhance an internal safety culture.
Create a strategic learning environment which fosters and supports continuous improvement.
Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
Develop, implement and lead organizational change.

Leadership and Supervision

Provide inspirational leadership through a passion for excellence, a commitment to employee development and success through teamwork.
Lead the human resources team to ensure that the practices meet organizational needs now and for the future, using data.
Develop effective labour relationships and oversee collective bargaining negotiations.
Contribute to an internal communications strategy keeping employees informed.

Resource Management

Oversee the benefits and total rewards plans ensuring compensation programs align with the strategic direction and develop appropriate financial proposals.
Identify resource needs relative to regional and strategic plans; negotiate funding to meet these needs with the operations team.
Maintain each operation within budget (includes authorization of expenditures).
Analyze and report on variances for each operational budget under your purview with support from the Finance Department.

Quality Outcomes for the Persons we Support

Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, partner agencies, volunteers, government employees and the community.
Collaborate with community resources, including funded services and informal supports available.
Participate in both internal and external committees and task forces.

Quality Assurance Measures

Ensure the health and safety of persons supported and employees in accordance to Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Provincial and Municipal regulations and by-laws.
Execute continuous quality improvement programs to enhance employee experience.
Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of all employment related data.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
University degree
Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources or Industrial Relations is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:
7 years of experience in human resources at a senior level.
CHRE designation.
Proven experience with collective agreement negotiations, mediation, arbitration and dispute resolution.
Executive leadership for management including mentoring, coaching, training and development.
Enhanced use of database and enterprise systems.
Extensive knowledge of related legislation and regulations such as: Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Privacy legislation and Human Rights Code, etc.
Advanced knowledge of budgeting and scheduling of employees.
Knowledge of the Developmental Services sector of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based treatment models and approaches is an asset.
French language is an asset.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Position requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
A valid driver’s license, minimum G2 and a reliable vehicle required for frequent business travel.
