We currently looking to hire a team to support our Youth Space project

Youth Space: A Youth Activity Worker for a South Surrey a youth driven program - 'a safe, sober, inclusive space to create, connect and innovate'. Hours are between 11:30-6:00pm Mon/Thurs, and 2:00-7:30pm Tue/Wed/Fri.

We are seeking creative and energetic individuals to work collaboratively with youth to create a space that supports a wide range of youth needs, and interests. An amazing opportunity for someone who is interested in program development, youth leadership, and broader spectrum youth work. Experience working with youth 13-23, with an understanding of mental health, substance use, and other youth concerns.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES: There may be additional hours available including spring break & summer camps (Crescent Beach), school age programs, and if experienced in ECE the role could be combined into full time hours with addt’l hours to support our Children’s Centre Programs.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Youth Activity Worker –

  • Work with youth to develop and implement activities ex: dj nights, painting sessions, cooking events, writing clubs, photography etc.
  • Work collaboratively with youth and colleagues to ensure the safety and well being of participants, and team members.
  • Support marketing and promotion of space and activities.
  • Support team with administrative needs, including acquiring materials, guest facilitators, and community engagement activities.

Experience: The ideal candidates will be experienced working with youth in a social recreational setting, with an understanding of a youth driven approach. They will have a degree in related field, and/or combination of work/education. Experience/training in mental health, substance use, and social emotional learning is required.

Compensation: $19.87 to $23.50 subject to experience
