Lake Country Health Planning Society (LCHPS) is looking for Caregiver Support Facilitator to develop local caregiver resources, education and support networks. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with older adults and is willing to engage with the community to develop a sustainable caregiver network. The successful applicant will be someone who has had previous experience working with caregivers and is empathetic towards those in a caregiving capacity. This role is the first of its kind in our community, so the successful applicant must be a self-starter willing to reach out to community members and organizations that work with caregivers to increase awareness about caregiver resources in the community. Additional responsibilities of the Caregiver Support Facilitator will be to coordinate and facilitate a weekly caregiver support group and promote educational workshops to increase caregivers’ knowledge and skills. And to determine how to create local respite options within and among neighbors, promoting a whole community approach to caregiving. The successful candidate for the Caregiver Support Facilitator must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven interviewing, counselling and educating. The candidate must have exceptional organizational skills to manage several demands at once, as well as having proficient computer skills (specifically word, excel, and access). Recent experience with social services and/or health services that deal with older adults and their caregivers is an asset. Minimum requirements for this position is a Bachelors degree background in behavioral, health or social services, with supplemental courses in gerontology. Proven program development and management is a must. Current CPR & First Aid. This is a Permanent Part-Time Position (up to 32 hours per week).
