The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for the installation and/or repair of residential/commercial HVAC systems while providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and company sponsored programs. The HVAC Project Manager is also responsible for the training and coaching of the next generation of Guest HVAC Technicians and must be willing to teach.

Reporting to the President, this position is responsible for the Project maintenance and or repair, construction operations related to heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and Preventative Service Program in the Residential, Commercial and Retail Fields.


  • Possess a minimum Gas Technical I or 2 Licence valid in the Province of Ontario along with a recognized trade certificate/licence such as, but not limited to, the fields of refrigeration and air conditioning, sheet metal
  • Have a minimum five years related experience at least two of which were in a supervisory position.
  • Must be able to read schematic and mechanical plans.
  • Must have knowledge of the electrical and pneumatic building automated controls.
  • Previous experience in the implementation and continuous operation of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Must have an understanding of computer monitoring systems.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of computerized programs and systems including word processing, e-mail and maintenance management.
  • Possess ability to prepare work schedules for staff.
  • Capable of producing brief, accurate reports and written recommendations.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, WHMIS legislation and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead HVAC service staff by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing the performance of all staff employees.
  • Maintain a well-trained team that is up to date on new technology, use tools and materials properly and provide each customer with quality workmanship.
  • Provide customers with price estimations for parts and labour; effectively estimate project hours for specific services and coordinate with team to shorten downtime.
  • Work with customers and team to provide technical support, resolve issues, and provide HVAC product maintenance.

Please note first year will include hands on work while building this exciting new division. You will be building your own team.

Required Abilities

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team
  • Progress within the trade through a recognized apprenticeship program,
  • Work at various construction sites and projects within Southern Ontario

Required Experience

  • Ontario Journey-Person HVAC / GAS 1 or 2 Licence
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in commercial and or residential construction is an asset
